Having an instructor to explain and show the student different techniques and more that you can't always find from one single book. A drum instructor should help a student with their goals but also guide the student through this massive world of music. I can help you reach those goals.

Hi there! My name is Jason. I've been teaching since 1990 and am also a retired Navy musician having served 20 years. I'm a graduate of the Armed Forces School of Music Basic and Advanced Courses.  My goal is to help you reach your goals. I can teach all styles of music (rock, funk, country, blues, swing, Latin) on drum set, as well as snare drum. I can work with children as young as 4 years old to adults. I can also teach students to read music, learn rudiments, prepare for school auditions and band auditions, but, most importantly - have fun playing the drums!

I have tried taking lessons before but was unable to really "get it". After taking lessons with Jason, I have quickly grasped reading music and playing a few types of beats. Jason has the patience of a saint and corrects mistakes efficiently yet gently. Great teacher!
