Experience the French language with a French major

I've studied French for over 5 years and I can relate to anyone who is just starting to learn a language. I've taken all types of French classes from beginner to advanced college-level. I've traveled to France before and practiced my speaking with native speakers. I also have French friends that compliment my skills. I tailor my lessons to the student's specific needs and I can teach basic grammar and pronunciation to linguistics to history.

    About Jason G.

My name is Jason and I graduated from Penn State University with degrees in French, German, and Linguistics with honors in Linguistics. I wrote my honors thesis on morphosyntax in German in relation to particles and prepositions. I also developed a research project related to speech perception with a professor and then conducted the research in The Netherlands. I did one-on-one tutoring during my time at Penn State for a year and a half in all levels of French and German, as well as Algebra 1. My German and French tutoring focused on grammatical structures and pronunciation. My math tutoring focused on technique to remember rules and formulas, as well as graph and table reading. I tutored athletes through the Morgan Academic Center and all of the students said that I was a great tutor and some requested to have me again the following semester. I'm also a karate teacher and have been teaching since 2012, which gives me experience with younger people as well. I've been studying foreign languages since 2012 and I have traveled to both France and Germany, where I was able to practice speaking with native speakers. I was also involved with both the French club and German club during college. Studying linguistics has allowed me to understand English grammar at a very deep level. I understand how the language is supposed to work. I truly enjoyed my classes because my professors were eager to help students learn, and I want to be able to help students learn as well. I find that learning is easiest when the teacher cares about helping people. I will do anything and everything I can to help students learn what they need. I truly enjoy helping people learn and I want to help as many people as I can, especially with subjects that I personally enjoy.
