Music Performance

Levels Taught:
Beginner, Intermediate
Playing music is one thing, performing music is a whole different ballgame. You could be a technically gifted musician, but not be able to translate that into performing in front of others. I have performed many different kinds of music, with several bands as well as solo, in many different environments. Performance is not an exact science, but there are many things I could teach you to become more comfortable, professional, and effective as a performer and entertainer.

I have been playing guitar for over 20 years. I was blessed to have a great instructor who motivated me and provided me with a great foundation to build upon. I would like to be able to pay it forward and do the same for you. I studied music at UMBC, and I received certifications in audio production and recording techniques from the Omega Studios School of Recording Arts and Sciences. Along the way, I have learned how to play many other instruments and sing. I have worked with many great musicians over the years, been in several bands, recorded professionally in several studios, and performed in numerous venues around the DC, Baltimore and Annapolis, as well as Nashville. I worked in musical instrument sales for 4 years, so I have a vast knowledge of musical gear, and would like to share that knowledge with you. My current passion is to put my knowledge and experiences to use in guiding students to learn everything they will need to know to become the musician they aspire to be.

Experience

Sales Associate
Oct 2006 - Oct 2009
GUITAR CENTER

As a salesman at GC for 3 years, I learned a great deal about musical equipment. I worked in the guitar/amp department, so I was thoroughly educated in the differences of the gear in order to properly sell it. I acquired a vast knowledge of the differences between products, how the function, how to maintain and troubleshoot gear, and basically how to gear up to be a professional musician. My experience is at your disposal.

Jason was a very good instructor. He is patient and very easy to work with. I get frustrated easily, but he kept me motivated and I really enjoyed playing guitar more after our lessons together.
