Yiddish was the first non-English language that I learned to speak fluently, and I have been teaching the language and speaking Yiddish continuously since 2008. I do tend to focus on Litvish-Idish, which is the Lithuanian dialect, but I also have an understanding of the language that pervades both academic and casual contexts.

I am a polyglot, translator, teacher, and game designer, specializing in Scandinavian Languages, Yiddish and also a host of rarely taught languages. If you would like to learn a rarer language, such as Icelandic, Greenlandic, Fijian or English Creoles of Melanesia, it can be arranged via the site. Excellent teacher. Patient and creative with lessons, good at pointing out patterns. Lessons are very enjoyable and have been hugely beneficial in developing familiarity with the language.

I've had two Finnish lessons with Jared so far. He's a great teacher. Very informative, and when I'm feeling overwhelmed he does a great job of answering my questions. I've learned more Finnish grammar between this first and second week of my lesson than I have in 25 years of hearing the language spoken.

We just need to get a little better audio going---maybe we will add a speaker on our end
