Learning to play the piano was a lifelong dream of mine. I’ve been taking lessons from Janet now for five years. As an “adult” student starting from scratch, I was concerned that I would never really be able to understand music or become truly competent. When I look back to where I started from and how far I’ve come, I’m amazed. Janet is truly a genius at teaching. She makes difficult concepts easy to understand. And she truly understands the challenges of the adult learner. But learning is always enjoyable, never stressful. I look forward to my lessons and even my at-home practicing sessions. It’s become a kind of therapy for me! I would recommend Janet and the Fine Arts Music School to any who is serious about learning to play the piano. Bev - Mamaroneck, NY

I am an adult who learned piano for 2 years when I was little before quitting. I wanted to regain my skills and Janet has been helping me do that. She’s fantastic, kind, flexible and encouraging! She reminded me to enjoy the music while at the same time challenging me to improve my skills to the next level I couldn’t be more excited !!
