I started my singing career as a young girl, and noticed early on that I wanted to do music for the rest of my life. I was very involved in choirs and musicals throughout school, and that's where I decided I wanted to teach music. I attended Central Bible College on a music scholarship to study Vocal Performance, but left after 3 years to return home to Indiana. I am now an Indiana University Alumna. I have always believed in working hard and establishing confidence. Anyone who has a natural talent and wants to succeed in the music field will, if they work hard enough. I teach with a positive tone. I do not allow any low self esteem! I want my students to be comfortable singing, and I want to teach them to be confident in their gift. *** Lesson Details *** I am a goal oriented teacher. I want my students to have something to look forward to and work for. I like to start a lesson with a debrief on what we can expect in that lesson and be able to strengthen the voice. I like to teach on classical and musical theatre pieces and work very well with language pieces. No matter how seasoned one is, there is always room for improvement! After awhile in lessons a student will be able to notice the change and improvement of their voice and their stature as well as their confidence in the music. We are all working on the goal to become better and more successful singers who are passionate about their craft! I take a laid back approach when it comes to teaching, and encourage honesty in my lessons. I want to make sure that all of my students feel comfortable enough to tell me what is working for them, and what isn't.
