Hi! My name is Jan and I am a keyboardist, composer and producer based in Philadelphia. I've been playing piano for over 20 years, as well as composing for film and theater. I have my BA in Music, and was recently accepted into the Jazz Studies graduate program at Pennsylvania's University of the Arts. My specialties are music theory, harmony, and piano technique. I've been teaching piano for over four years, working with students of all ages and experience levels. For me, teaching is a passion, and I love the excitement of sparking lasting relationships with music!

Jan is a wonderful teacher and we recommend him highly to students of any age. My son really likes Jan's teaching method and appreciates that he is so musically current and kind -- high praise from a teenager! Jan is easygoing but is also innovative and thorough in his approach, and it's been a pleasure for the rest of us to get to know him too. I haven't always been successful in the past at getting my son to focus on lessons but Jan has a way of encouraging that progress along. As a result, my son has learned a lot in a short time and really enjoys the piano now.

To whom It may concern, This is a letter of recommendation for Jan Jurchak as a teacher of piano instruction for young children. He is a man of high technical skill and ability, yet he can still make the basic movements fun and entertaining for kids of all ages. My 8 and 10 year old children took to his kind manner and positive teaching techniques immediately, he was their instructor for two years. Their aptitude for the instrument grew as their desire to perform better for their teacher amplified with each session. They gladly did their practices on their own, in hopes of excelling and impressing their new mentor every lesson. They were encouraged to think about the instrument in their own way; to bring in pieces of music that they liked and wanted to learn. In short time, both children began to read and write music. Long after Jan has left our lives, the girls love of piano has continued to expand and develop; truly the gift that keeps giving. I could not more highly recommend this man as a music instructor for children. You would be lucky to have him!

To Whom It May Concern: This letter is to attest to the character and proficiency of our former keyboard instructor Jan Jurchak who instructed our twin, 12 year old girls for 2 years from the ages of 9 through 11. Our girls were able to progress from having no proficiency on the piano up to a middle intermediate level through the instruction of Jan whom we received once weekly 30-45 minute lessons Jan has demonstrated integrity in his work and dedication to teaching our young children and as a result has earned our trust and respect as an outstanding example We have observed Jan work with others in his initial as an instructor for Spotlight Arts Center in Saugus, California and later as our private instructor. Throughout our working relationship Jan freely assisted us in providing useful feedback to enhance learning between lessons and build confidence in their ability to play the instrument. Jan demonstrated a consistently high level of professionalism and expertise in his craft. As such my wife and I are highly recommending Jan for the position of Music/Keyboard instructor that he is pursuing. Please feel free to contact us with any questions, clarifications or concerns regarding this statement of recommendation. Sincerely, Vincent Kondo and Sri Utami
