Cello with Jamie R.

Hello, my daughter has been taking piano lessons from Jamie since she was 7. She is now 10. Under Jamie’s tutelage, my daughter has gone from a shy little girl playing plunk plunk plunk to a beaming with enthusiasm pianist playing Queen’s Bahamian Rhapsody at the yearly piano recital. For four weeks, Jamie and my daughter tore through 4 sections of the Rhapsody that Jamie had modified for her. It was amazing to see the dedication of Jamie and the interest and fun in my daughter. At the recital she was fantastic and what a smile. Jamie is a very accomplished artist and piano teacher, she focuses my daughter on good piano techniques while having fun. For example, while Jamie taught my daughter to play songs she also focused my daughter to read music rather than memorize the music, My daughter was able to transform this training into playing other musical instruments. At eight she took up the flute and quickly moved into advanced band. While I focused on the accomplishments of my daughter as any proud parent would do, the foundation of her success began with the training she received from Jamie. Jamie has taught my daughter for three years and we are going to keep coming – until my daughter grows up and leaves for college.

Jamie is compassionate, erudite, & challenges you. She knows how to push you, but, simultaneously, always has your back. I look forward to my lesson every week.

My daughter really enjoys having Jamie as her teacher! Since she was 6 she has gained confidence and appreciation for the guitar. Jamie is patient and has been terrific with guidance and keeping her interested through the lessons. We wouldn’t want anyone else!
