Hey! My name is Jamie Bekyarovich. I’ve been playing Guitar since I was 11 years old and have loved every second of it. Although I’m primarily a rock musician, I take pride in being able to play and teach many different musical genres from Rock N’ Roll, Heavy Metal, Jazz, Classical, Blues, Acoustic, Pop, and Funk. I went to a music oriented high school, I’ve played in a multitude of different bands. I also have a diploma in applied music from Mohawk College’s Contemporary Music program where I studied Jazz guitar, music production, and teaching methods. I have 6 years of teaching experience including freelance work, and institutional work, as well as 8 years experience recording and mixing music. In my experience teaching it’s become completely clear that every student is different. They learn differently, have different goals, musical tastes, aspirations, and all face different obstacles and challenges. For this reason i do not teach a standard curriculum. I like to customize each student’s learning experience to best suite their individual needs. I find that by doing this, students retain their interest and love for music, they start setting and accomplishing goals, and as a result become not just a more confident musician, but a more confident individual. Once students start setting goals for themselves and accomplishing things they thought they never could, they begin to realize that you can do anything you put your mind to as long as you work hard, believe in yourself, and never give up. Guitar lessons are all online and accepted from anywhere in the world (English speaking only), Im currently working on setting up multiple camera angles for the best possible experience. For best experience weekly lessons are recommended. [ Make Up Lessons: Every now and then I may need to reschedule one of our lessons around a gig or recording session, but I try my very best to avoid doing so. I’m also understanding when students need to reschedule a lesson] Feel free to ask any other questions you may have. [Things to think about before our first guitar lesson (I will be asking you these questions either before or during our first lesson) 1. Who are some of your favourite musicians/bands? - What are some of your favourite songs? 2. Do you have any experience playing guitar? 3. What are your aspirations? (Hobbyist? Rock Star? Campfire Guitarist?) 4. What would you like to be able to play on the guitar by this time next year?] Things to think about before our first Pro Tools lesson. 1. Do you have any experience recording music? 2. Do you have any experience inside of Pro Tools. 3. Find 3 recordings(songs) where you absolutely love the production.

Jamie's been coming to my house once a week for the last 8 months. I used to play guitar when i was a teenager and decided to take it up again as a hobby since my kids have gone off to University and i have some free time available to me. At first we worked on relearning the chords i had forgotten, after a couple of months we started learning some Neil Young and Leonard Cohen songs. Im very pleased, never in my life until now have i been able to play a full song from start to finish! Thanks Jay - See you on Thursday!

My 12 year old daughter took guitar lessons from Jamie as part of the Mohawk College student/teacher after school program. She had no experience when she started and after 4 months she was already playing along to her favourite Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift songs. She always looked forward to her weekly guitar lessons!

Ive been taking lessons from Jamie for almost 3 years now and I couldn't be happier with the results! When i first approached him for lessons I was already a fairly decent guitarist but i was having an extremely hard time playing and making my own solos, I told him exactly what i wanted to be able to do and he tailored made each lesson to my goals. He helped brake down the process of learning a guitar solo AND improvising my own solos. Some of the areas we covered we're technique, theory, lifting solos by ear, and how to execute musical phrases with complete confidence. 10/10 would recommend! ...This guy's a beast!
