    About James Y.

I am a longtime writer/editor/journalist who has consulted with mostly freelance writers and students as a critiquer/editor/reviewer/rewriter. For five years I was the Director of a national association for writers and conducted conferences across the country, and was a featured speaker/teacher at others. I am familiar with different kinds of styles (such as AP, APA, Chicago Manual of Style, etc.). I am comfortable working with short stories, essays, academic papers at all levels, poetry, new/features, and novel and non-fiction book manuscripts. As an active writer myself, I know how difficult it can be for new and even experienced writers to make a good impression on teachers/professors/instructors, editors, and other clients. My job is to help you make that first great impression -- and following -- to sell yourself and your work -- whether it's for commercial, academic, or other purposes. Let me help you!
