I feel very lucky to have been placed in James studio this year. James is friendly, optimistic, encouraging and cares for his students. He has made our voice lessons something that I am excited to go to every week. During our first few lessons, we identified my strengths and weaknesses and what my short term and long term goals for voice lessons were. We started working towards my goals and improving my weaknesses right away. Throughout or lessons James was able to explain what I should be feeling while singing, how it should sound, and what goes on in my body when I am singing in a way that I was actually able to understand. This special way of explaining things helped me to make several strides during the last four months. Additionally, James has also helped me to search for audition material and prepare for my audition. James is such a blessing and I would recommend to anyone!

James teaches in a very clear and concise way and gives his best as a voice teacher at every lesson. I've worked with several other voice teachers and he has been the best hands down. He's really good at recognizing strengths and weaknesses and addressing those weaknesses in a really effective manner. He's also very structured and working with him has made a lot more efficient and focused with my practice time. I've only been working with him for about a month and a half and I've already improved tremendously. James is not only a really great teacher but he's also super approachable and friendly. He's someone that you could go to and talk to about anything and that's something I feel is very important in a music teacher. Overall, I highly recommend James as a voice teacher.

I love working with James, he truly is a great fit for me. He is kind, and ultimately, he became a friend to me not long after we started working together. He is respectful of all of my strengths and weaknesses, and we always have something to work on, for there is always something to improve. He gave me specific exercises to work on outside of our lessons that catered exactly to what I needed, and I would come to lessons working more efficiently because of it. We always made a great use of our lesson time. He knows a lot about the anatomy of the voice and how to sing properly, but also knows how healthy singing feels, which proved better at explaining how to do so. After just four months of working together, he helped inspire confidence in my voice and performance, but also helped me identify what I need to work on for the coming months. James is marvelous.
