In 1978 I was a member of the Glenn Miller Orchestra led by
clarinetist Peanuts Huco.  In the 1980's I was a member of the
Junior Cook/Bill Hartman quintet.  I currently freelance in New York City.  I was also the accompanist for the jazz vocal workshop at the
Brooklyn Conservatory Of Music, and remain a faculty member.

Pianist

Students should have some experience at the keyboard.  Lessons 
focus on learning the jazz repertoire, while developing performance
and improvisation skills.  While learning the correct chord changes;  choice of voicings and movement of harmony will be explored with the purpose of developing an individual style.  As I also play string bass; playing together will be immensely beneficial to your progress.

I am a professional jazz pianist with a desire to pass on my knowledge of the art form to motivated young people and older adults.
In the 1980's I worked with baritone saxophonist Cecil Payne,
tenor saxophonist Junior Cook, and trumpeter Bill Hartman.
