Teaching saxophone is something that brings me great joy. I have been studying for 10 years and teaching for 4 of those. In High School I was a member of All-District Jazz Band as well as All-City Wind orchestra. I have a Bachelors of Arts from Temple University with a degree in Jazz Performance. While there I studied with two of the best modern saxophonists in the world, Richard Oatts and Tim Warfield. Under the tutelage of Director of Jazz Studies Terrell Stafford and Guitarist Greg Kettinger I was also involved in the Big Bands as well at Temple. Since then I have been performing free-lance throughout the D.C. and Virginia area. My passion is Jazz, however nothing gets done in the music world without a thorough understanding of fundamentals. Whatever genre of music you wish to learn will be grounded in a strong foundation. From there we will create amazing music together!
