Teaching since:

My name is James and I am originally from Mobile, Alabama. I am always up for an adventure. Instead of receiving my TEFL certification online, I decided to go to Costa Rica for my training! It was an amazing experience. I loved everything about Costa Rica.

Before that, I lived in Chicago for three years. I always like to experience new places and have travelled a large portion of the US. Before I decided I wanted to teach English, I was a cook for many years. I don't cook for customers anymore, now I cook for family and friends. I enjoy expressing myself through food by cooking dishes that I enjoy eating. And I like to have fun while I do it!

While I was training to become TEFL certified, I taught locals in a small beach town in Costa Rica, and I realized that teaching people brings me way more joy than cooking food for people. I have found that I enjoy the spontaneity of teaching and that I am good at allowing lessons to progress naturally. As I've said before, as long as we are learning and having fun, I think everything is going great!
