Hello. I'm a historian with experience as an educator, currently transferring my skills into historic preservation. I hold a bachelors in public administration, a masters in history, and will soon earn a Masters in Historic Preservation. My goal is to help you achieve your goals.
I believe in the power knowledge has to expand our world view and make us more mindful of our own biases. Learning about history is one of the greatest avenues to teaching us how interconnected we are with humanity's past, but also how we might be able to do things better in the future; it is striking the balance between progress and tradition. I would like to show you just how exciting history can be, that it is a grand narrative with many different stories. The human saga contains many of those stories, but there is also much to be gained from the stories of natural and cosmic history.
My expertise is in that human saga through the stories of the United States, but I like to expand at times to bringing stories from the natural and even cosmic histories into it when they apply. My lessons will focus on bringing an interdisciplinary approach, pulling from the lenses of philosophy, economics, theology, physical and natural sciences, psychology, anthropology, and literature. Not all these ways of understanding these stories will be used all the time, but they will each bring a fuller humanity to the humanities and science of history.
If you feel my experience and teaching philosophy are a match for your academic goals, I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully working with you soon.
