Dr. James Charles. is a native of Detroit, Michigan. Relative to education and music education experience, James is a graduate of Southern University (B.M.E), Boston University (M.M) and Capella University (Ph.D). As a result of his continued study and training in music education, James utilizes various teaching methods and classroom management strategies including those of Dalcroze, Kodaly, Orff, and Suzuki. Dr. Charles has taught or held band clinics in Georgia, Louisiana, Michigan, Texas and Washington D.C. Dr. Charles has served as adjudicator of instrumental music festivals and clinician at various music seminars throughout the United States. In addition to his extensive music training at several institutions of higher learning, James attended the Recording Institute of Detroit. There he received his certification in music production and recording engineering. James brings enthusiasm and excitement to the learning environment. From Mozart to Maroon 5 all beyond, James assures that each lesson will present a wealth of knowledge that students will carry with them for a lifetime!
