I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I started playing flute when I was 8 and bass when I was 13. In 2002, I moved to New York City to attend The Juilliard School, where I earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Double Bass performance. I came to Pittsburgh to attend Carnegie Mellon University, where I got a Master of Music degree and a post-graduate Performance Residency Certificate. Since finishing at Carnegie Mellon in 2011, I have been freelancing in Western PA, Ohio, and West Virginia. *** Lesson Details *** I want to provide a fun, relaxed environment in which you feel appropriately challenged and comfortable to make mistakes. I don't have a pre-set course of music and exercises that I give to every student. Rather, I prefer to have a variety of music and exercises at hand so that we can find material that addresses the student's learning needs and is enjoyable for that student. I love teaching to all ages and levels, and I understand that each student's learning style and goals are different - the needs of a small child are very different than the needs of a student looking to get into a college music program. I want to ensure that you are happy with your progress, that you learn proper technique, and that you have fun! *** Studio Equipment *** Music stands, an electronic keyboard, mirrors so that students can see and make corrections to their form, a music library, and seating for parents. There's easily available parking on my street. *** Travel Equipment *** I bring my own instrument to demonstrate on. I have an electronic keyboard that I can bring if a music theory student does not have their own piano or keyboard. Students are responsible for purchasing all books and materials. *** Specialties *** I specialize in classical music of all eras, from baroque through 21st century compositions.

Jesica takes the time to prepare my instument with tape makings and handwrites lessons for me to take home. Plus im playing 5 different scales after only two sessions with her. She also is starting to teach me the basics on how to read music. I couldnt ask for a better teacher to start me on the fundamentals of the upright bass. Very pleased so far and look foward to every lesson.

I was satisfied with the lesson. I wasn't noticing that Jessica had 2 E-Mails 'till the next day when I checked my PC. She said that she could be at at the bus stop when I got off the bus yesterday. That was alright anyway; I was a little bit early But she said that it was alright. Buses ether are early or late. (some times they don't show-up at all; I call the bus company several years ago & why it happened that way. They told me that they don't have time to look for another person to drive the bus & the guy calls up & he just wouldn't be there that day. Any was I liked the lesson & Jessica lives close to the 71C were I live. It was a short ride from my place were I live. It as a good lesson.
