This company has helped me make connections, find my voice and vision in the professional world, helped me with casting knowledge, and has given my career validity by having John Patrick Shanley, Lyle Kessler, Peter Hedges, creators of The Woodsman, and more, attend my shows and forming a relationship with them.
Working at MCC let me into casting rooms with some of Broadway's top actors and casting directors. I was able to build casting skills, notice what CD's look for in audition rooms, and learned how a top Off-Broadway theatre company is ran. I was able to network with Bernie Telsey, Blake West, and more.Show More
I completed the first three sessions of UCB's improvisation program, which supplied me with truth, the ability to say yes, respond in the moment, and countless lessons as an actor. UCB taught me sketch writing, ensemble games and workshops, and more.
I partnered with The Kenan Institute in teaching and sharing Shakespeare. We went through a cycle of workshops with industry professionals, performed shows, broke down text analysis and history, and were able to teach ages from 15-35 in Shakespeare intensives ourselves.Show More

Very nice and gave great pointers.
Really great insight and learnt a lot. Very focused and on point. Looking forward to my next online session with Jake.
I became a fan of Jacob's theatre work in NYC. It's always fresh and inventive, which is why I coach with him on my audition scenes. I primarily go in for tv/film work, but his classical training foundation and fresh perspective translate to the screen. If you're looking for affordable coaching with a cutting edge, up and coming artist- call Jake!Show More
Jake Owen is an excellent teacher and support system for not only fellow professional actors but also for aspiring performers! His radiant energy is contagious and his conservatory training is exceptional and diverse. I highly recommend!
I've known Jake for a long time and he definitely has what it takes to be a great teacher! I learn just from being around him.
Jake is a wonderfully caring, empathetic, smart acting coach. He's very in-tune with people's emotions and what they're capable of and knows how to tap into innate talent. He also knows how to approach the process from all angles for different ages.Show More
Jake is amazing. I've known him for 7 years, and he's always been incredibly generous and attentive. He's an amazing actor with a real love for it, and combined with his passion for helping people, I have no doubt that Jake is the perfect coach for kids looking to audition for drama schools.Show More
Jake was so helpful and gave me tons of confidence for my audition. I left feeling so much more specific and clear about what I was doing. Now I always ask for his advice when I have an audition coming up!
I went to school with Jake, and I know him to be a patient, kind, and adaptive man who is capable of adjusting to any situation. Jake will make an excellent teacher. He has a firm grasp of a variety of different techniques, a strong intellect, and a remarkable ability to listen. Take his class. You will not regret it.Show More
Jake is amazing !
This guy is everything. His honest and direct insights are everything an actor needs to to cut through the noise of self doubt. Jacob's insite has become an absolute asset in my process and I highly recommend his help in whatever project you need.
I know there are tons of reviews on here but he's been a huge help to my career and I feel like no matter what your level of knowledge you're at or what your goals are, he's just the type of person who you will grow and learn from.
Jake has worked with me on and off over the past 3 years and has been an absolute blessing. I have come to him when bigger opportunities have opened for me and he's kept me grounded in the work so I feel confident and prepared walking into the room. I've booked two guest star rolls since working with him, one on ABC, the other CBS and have seen a steady increase in callbacks the more often we work together. Couldn't recommend enough.
Recently I worked on a callback with Jake. Being an actor himself he knows exactly how to talk to performers in a way that empowers them. In his mock audition settings he successfully creates the feeling of professionalism that you encounter in the world and enables you to find confidence in your process and work within that setting. Most importantly, Jake is encourages you to be yourself and bring you to the audition, not give the people behind the table an idea of what you think they want. Jake understands that auditioning is not about delivering what you think it should be, but taking the opportunity to express your unique self within the character and circumstances.Show More
