Are you just starting on saxophone or are you looking to hone your existing skills? No matter your skill level I will help you expand your capabilities by focusing on your technique, time and tone and creating a genuine and holistic connection with your instrument. Within a few lessons I guarantee it will no longer feel like an instrument but an extension of your own body and from that we can create whatever we can imagine!

I am a professional saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist including piano, guitar, bass and drums and graduated from the school of hard knocks with a degree in real-life music experience. After being a working musician for the majority of my life I will teach YOU what it really takes to succeed!

I am currently playing shows and gigs with 3 different bands and am also a band leader myself. I released an album in 2017 which I composed and produced and am currently working on my second album.

I had a basic understanding of scales and chords from taking a introductory piano course in school. After I graduated I wanted to continue learning but was having a hard time using online resources and nothing seemed to click.

A friend recommended me to Jake and I figured I’d try out a lesson just to see if he’d be able to help me put together some of the pieces I was learning.

Jake was a fantastic instructor, he was able to explain complex chord structure and composition in a way that just made sense. He would talk about what we were going over in a lesson, show me what it sounded like and examples of songs that used it, and then would (patiently) coach me through learning the chord or technique. He was always positive and encouraged me to keep trying until I felt confident in doing it, even if I was getting frustrated and wanted to throw in the towel. My piano skills have improved so much from his lessons!

I've taken lessons with many instructors before and I truly believe Jake to be the most patient and helpful. His use of relatable analogies along with a strategical practice routine has help me to reach my goals faster then ever. As long as you're willing to put in the work, Jake will show you the way.
