Hi!

I've been teaching all sorts of subjects all over the world for the last decade (and some change), and I'm looking forward to connecting with -you- (or your mom/dad/dogs/cats/washcloth--whomever wants to study! ^^)!

I'm very flexible in terms of what's taught and like to adjust my lessons to meet the goals, needs, and preferences of students.

I've taught:
- Ukulele Lessons
- Guitar Lessons
- Voice Lessons
- ESL Lessons (Yonsei University and Gangneung Wonju University as well as Berlitz in Korea)
- 5th through 8th grade science
- English/Grammar/Creative Writing
- Zoology for kids at a zoo!

I have a BA in Music (Vocal Performance) and am currently studying biology and en route to an MS in Evolutionary Biology!

(I also work at a zoo! ^^)

And...I used to street perform ukulele regularly abroad!

Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, comments, pies-you-want-to-throw; I'm game for all of it!

Looking forward to hearing from you!
- Jake

It was an alarming thing, at the time, because color photography didn't yet exist.

We really enjoy having Jake as our instructor. He teaches in a way that encourages my children to love learning a new instrument and the whole family gets enjoy music through the lesson. Thank you Jake!

We really enjoyed have Jake over for our 5 year old’s first lesson tonight! He seems very flexible, fun, easygoing and it looks like he is great at connecting with kids. We really look forward to future lessons with him!

One word... Amazing! Jake has been teaching my daughter the Ukulele for a few weeks now and she loves it. She can't wait for Jake to arrive and he has a bag tricks he always brings. His enthusiasm is off the hook and he is as equally as good with children as he is with adults! Choose no other.

Jake was a really involved instructor. He offered a few people a course which didn't just cover how to pay the ukulele but also the philosophy behind how to listen to music and try to play tunes accurately. He also introduced non-traditional ways to approach learning the ukulele that boosted confidence and decreased the learning time involved.

Jake is an amazing teacher! I have zero experience, and he is patient with all of my questions and limited background knowledge. He's fun and engaging, and I would recommend him for anyone looking to learn a new skill or practice an existing skill with an energetic and enthusiastic teacher.

My lesson was awesome. I've been trying to teach myself ukulele for a while but had a lot of problems. I started telling Jake about it and he knew just what to do. Very knowledgeable, very clear instructions.
