    About Jairo G.

Anyone can learn to play an instrument! I’m a professional musician specializing in guitar and bass since the age of 12. By 16 I was my music instructor’s bassist in his band. Played the Copacabana club in NYC at 16. I went to Musicians Institute College Of Contemporary Music, and majored in Music Performance, concentrating on bass performance. I’ve performed with many artist and have learned from many artist such as Putter Smith who at one time was the bassist of Thelonius Monk and many others. Played with top session musicians that have been part of albums such as Prince and many others. As your guitar or bass intructor I will tailor lessons to your specific needs and interests. Monitor improvement and encourage you to explore your own personal musical journey while developing new skills. From beginner to advanced, I will share my practice tools to become a more efficient student of your instrument (get the most out of your time) I encourage all of my students to ask as many questions as they’d like. I like to keep the lessons fun. The time you put into your instrument will be rewarded with fulfillment.

    Experience

    Musician

    Jan, 2010 - Present

    Various

I’ve gained incredible amounts of experience through collaborations with artists in different genres of music. Things I could not have learned any other way. I learned how to be a proper “hired gun” and be as professional as possible. Working with producers and learning the business part of music has been a powerful tool in navigating the industry. When in college as a music student I’d practice around 8hrs daily for about 2yrs, that’s a lot of hours. I currently try to deliberately practice for as long as my schedule allows me to, which is usually about 3hrs a day. Not counting rehearsals and practicing for rehearsals
