I am a mezzo-soprano starting my Master of Music, Vocal Performance at the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music (CCM) looking to inspire the next generation of singers! I recently graduated in Spring of 2020 with my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Michigan and a minor in Linguistics. There I studied with renown tenors, George Shirley and Stanford Olsen. I was also awarded the Steven M. Schwartzberg Music Scholarship, and the Friends of Opera Undergraduate Scholarship given for musical and academic excellence. I received the Audience Choice Award at the 2020 Metropolitan Opera National Council (MONC) Auditions Great Lakes Regional Finals, as well as winning the Buffalo/Toronto District Competition. In addition, I was a finalist in the 2019 University of Michigan Concerto Competition and the Opera MODO Aria Competition. I also won the Hilda Harris Mezzo-Soprano Award at the 2018 George Shirley Vocal Competition. I have performed professionally with a number of companies in Metro Detroit including: Michigan Opera Theatre, Detroit Song Collective, and Opera MODO. I have also performed with the Chautauqua Institution, Russian Opera Workshop, Brevard Music Center, and Lyric Opera Studio Weimar (Germany). Recent roles include: Olga (Eugene Onegin), Mother (Hansel and Gretel), Marcellina (Le Nozze di Figaro) Mother Jeanne (Dialogues of the Carmelites), Mrs. Ott (Susannah), and Dritte Dame (Die Zauberflöte). I am skilled in music theory, ear training, sight reading, diction, and Alexander Technique. I have been trained in French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Czech repertoire, and specialize in African American art song and spirituals. Whether you just want to sound better when you sing in the shower, or are ready to take your performance to the next level - I can help! I work with singers of all ages and have experience teaching: classical voice, musical theatre, jazz standards, and pop. My lessons are focused on building a solid foundation of breath support and forward placement to ensure for a beautiful and healthy sound that will last!
