    About Jacques W.

*** Travel Equipment *** None. Instrument, Stand, Music *** Specialties *** I use the Suzuki and Sassmannshaus books as my primary teaching materials for beginning to intermediate students. For advanced students, I will use the standard technical study books (Popper, Piatti, etc). I also supplement technical-oriented material for all levels. Biography: Noted for his “expressive warmth, sensitivity and technical ease”, cellist Jacques Lee W. is gaining attention as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician of the highest caliber. He has coached chamber music at the Yale Department of music and Yale School of Music, and from 2011-2013 helped run and develop the early music program at the Yale School of Music alongside the distinguished baroque violinist Robert Mealy. W. currently serves on the faculty at the Korea Philharmonic Summer Research Institute, Seoul National Symphony Orchestra Summer Academy, and is a frequent guest artist at the Bari International Music Festival, International Musical Arts Institute, and the Manchester-by-the-Sea Summer Chamber Music Festival. W. is a the founder and artistic director of Boston-based Antico Moderno, and is principal player with the Grammy-nominated Trinity Baroque Orchestra, Bachsolisten Seoul, Grand Harmonie, Music at Eden’s Edge, and the American Baroque Orchestra.
