Hello! Here's a little about me:
Whether it's the voice, piano, guitar, or some acting chops, I have pursued the arts passionately throughout my entire life. The motivation to look at things from as many perspectives as possible has driven me to have a unique tool bag of practices to bring to any teaching situation, and has proven successful in my teaching practice.
Creds, Street: I began performing professionally since the age of 7 as a singer, dancer, and actor in the regional theater scene. Once I got into songwriting, I taught myself how to record and went to town.
Creds, Academic: I have a BA in Music, studied theater with SU in NYC, and have an MA in Music Therapy (board-certified). I've been a practicing music therapist for the last 3 years at a Philly children's hospital, as well as an assisted living facility down the mainline.
Teach voice to beginning, intermediate, and advanced students enrolled in the music therapy program at Immaculata University. Lessons consist of both functional voice instruction as well as specific vocal training for use in the therapy field.
Teach acting and audition workshops to help students more fully embody characters and bring text and lyrics to life. Past musical director for summer shows.
Work with 20-30 children to teach and accompany music for children's shows that run on weekends throughout the year. Work on interpretation of lyrics and music for effective characterization.
