Jack and I communicated regarding my music experience and guitar goals prior to my first lesson. He was prepared and had a good starting point ready to go. After 3 lessons, I can say I’m very happy with the combination of music theory and practical guitar playing in my lessons. Jack knows his stuff and is a good guitar teacher.

I’ve been taking guitar lessons from Jack for about 8 months and it’s been an absolutely rewarding experience. I’m an adult with no musical background or training at all (despite owning a guitar for over a decade), so we began with the basics. He’s done a great job of introducing me to technique/principles of music and having me learn songs that are fun, but also challenging enough to push me further each time. What I appreciate most are his encouragement and patience. His approach is very positive and it makes for a comfortable learning environment, which has been absolutely key for me. Playing guitar is clearly Jack’s passion and it’s evident how much he wants to share that during lessons. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Jack is an awesome teacher! I started taking lessons from Jack about 7 months ago as a total beginner on the guitar. In our intro lesson, he asked me what my goals were (basically sing and play at the same time!) and has done a really great job structuring our lessons around what I want to do. Jack packs a ton into our 30-minute lessons--we play out of the lesson book, learn chords, practice techniques, and he usually gives me a fun song to sing and play. He's really good at pushing me out of my comfort zone to try new things (blues improv!) and is always very patient and positive. I would highly recommend Jack for beginners or any skill level!
