With almost 20 years of music and theater related experience, and over 10 years as a vocal coach, I start each day fresh with a desire to pass on my passion for the arts. I have acquired my Bachelor of Music Degree in Voice Performance from Mason Gross School of the Arts in 1997, and am currently working towards my Master of Secondary Education Degree. Along with my traditional schooling, I have taken several Master Classes in Acting Technique and Voice-over. As a versatile individual, I have had the opportunity to hold a number of professional roles including Drama Teacher, Modeling and Television Instructor, and Private Vocal Coach. I have directed, choreographed, musical directed, and coached many individuals and groups within multiple organizations and age levels. Through these experiences, I have been fortunate enough to educate a diverse group of students, who functioned below-, on-, and above grade level. My lifelong desire is to be able to share my love of music and theater. God has blessed me with both a love for music and the arts and a desire to teach others about the incredible gift that we have been given. My goal is to instill a sense of music appreciation and performing arts integration, while at the same time teaching students about the technical aspects of music and theater. Through music we are able to express ourselves and our compassion for others. As a performing artist, I have toured many areas of NJ, DE, and PA, and have now expanded into VA. I have also toured Europe in England, Holland, and Germany with a production of Godspell. My credits are many and each role is unique. I have directed, music directed, and choreographed various productions, and my experience expands from the stage to film; including a performance in a chorus of back-up singers with Rosemary Clooney and Debbie Boone at the Valley Forge Music Fair. Currently, I am the lead singer for my band "End of Silence", and will be touring this coming year. We are looking to record soon. I continue to perform and study current trends to keep up with the popular demands of the youth. Staying in the performing world is essential to providing the most up to date information and trends to my students. I look forward to each and every lesson, and love to see my students shine. It is amazing to see the spark in a students eye as he or she follows his or her dreams. I look forward to teach your son, daughter, or yourself and passing on my passion to fulfill those dreams. *** Lesson Details *** I have been able to reach out to students, introducing new concepts while fostering a fun learning environment, and I have helped many students grow into well-rounded individuals. I believe that hard work and dedication will help you succeed and I try to instill this in my students. I ask that each student comes prepared with a good attitude, a pencil, a notebook, and a tape recorder (with tape). A 3 ring binder is helpful to organize. It's time for FUN, FUN, FUN! *** Studio Equipment *** uses Acrosonic Upright Baldwin Piano, Music Creator computer software, HP Computer, backing tracks. *** Specialties *** Kodaly method, breathing techniques, relaxation techniques, musical theater, opera, country, rock, alternative, classical, jazz

Feedback on Awesome Ivy :) Ivy was wonderful. She is a very intuitive teacher and communcates with care and compassion and passion. My daughter, Lauren, said that Ivy "gets her". Big compliment from a 15 year old! Enjoyed the lessons very much - we have tried several artistic venues over the years and acting classes were next on the list. Does not appear to be Lauren's forte and Ivy is in agreement with our decision. Next up: ballroom dancing! :)
