I'm a philologist, meaning, I studied the Spanish language deeply. I'm from Cuba and my native language, of course, is Spanish. My minor was in Hispanic Literature. “Being bilingual, it turns out, makes you smarter,” Yudhijit Bhattacharjee wrote once in a piece for the New York Times Sunday Review. “It can have a profound effect on your brain, improving cognitive skills not related to language and even shielding against dementia in old age.” In an increasingly global world, being bilingual makes you a more competitive force in society for jobs, travel, speaking to clients abroad. Also, Spanish is considered world's second-most spoken native language, after Mandarin Chinese. I taught Spanish as a second language since I graduated in 2012. In 2015 I left Cuba and came to the US. In here I've been teaching children from 3 to 5 years old in a bilingual program. I can teach all different ages and experience levels. I believe that everyone can learn a second or a third language, the only thing that you need is a motivation, any kind of motivation is essential to learn something new.
