EXPERIENCE U.S. Army-Green Beret, Intelligence Officer, Foreign Area Officer 1997-Present Ivan served in special operations, intelligence and foreign affairs assignments at the tactical, operational and strategic levels in overt and clandestine roles within the most sensitive programs of the US Government. He has served as a Green Beret commander at the detachment level in Central America and company level in Afghanistan and Jordan training other nations militaries in joint, interagency and coalition environments. Staff positions included time as an assistant Army attache to U.S. Embassy Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia; the deputy officer in charge of the AFPAK Hands program on the Army Staff; as an Intelligence Community Liaison Officer at the National Guard Bureau; and furthermore, he served as a foreign area specialist on the Joint Staff advising the Deputy J2 while on the Ukraine Crisis Team at the National Military Command Center. Operational assignments include: New York City immediately after 9/11, Afghanistan, Georgia, Honduras, El Salvador, Monterey, The Pentagon and as recently as October 2016 in Jordan countering ISIL as the Special Operations Command Forward-Jordan Advanced Operations Base Commander. His aggressive social media activity over the past year in tech has placed him as a leader/influencer in the social media marketing, technology, and content marketing communities with a ~100k person following. His investment thesis for 2018 will focus on mixed reality, artificial intelligence, drones, internet of things, wearable technology & the collaborative economy.
