My name is Dr. Isiah. I specialize in student centered and plan based academic tutoring in a variety of subjects at the K-12, college, and postgraduate levels. I have been a professional academic tutor for over 12 years, starting with becoming a peer tutor while enrolled at Tusculum University from 2010-2014. In May 2014 I graduated from Tusculum University with a degree in both Political Science and History. While at Tusculum I was president of the Student Government Association (SGA), the Intercollegiate State Legislature (TISL), and the Andrew Johnson Debate Society (AJS). Furthermore, I was the only student invited to serve on an ad hoc editorial committee to edit & revise the course “Political Traditions of the West.” In the fall of 2015 I attended the University of Iowa College of Law. While at Iowa Law, I helped to establish a tutoring partnership between the University of Iowa College of Law and a local non-profit known as “The Dream Center.” While in Law School I also served as a research assistant to top ranked professors, clerked for the Cook County Circuit Court, the Iowa Wrongful Convictions division, and Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS). I also was a student representative on the Iowa Student Bar Association (ISBA) and played a vital role in helping to revise law school first year course curriculum. Since graduating from law school, I have previously worked as a legal aid attorney, third grade teacher, small business owner, and freelance academic tutor and writer. While I am not using my skills and passion to help students achieve academic excellence, I am spending time with family, reading, writing articles for publication, traveling, and or spending time with friends. I am in the process of purchasing my first dog. Stay turned for pictures! Kind Regards, Dr. Isiah
