Hey friends! My name is Isabelle. I started music at the age of 4 with Classical piano lessons, and drumming at the age of 7 after hearing someone say "girls don't play the drums" - I've been working ever since to prove them wrong. I've played for over 18 years, hold a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from University of Maryland, and have been teaching private lessons, drum clinics, and music camps for over 10 years. I believe everyone has innate rhythm and love helping students discover their unique groove. I have a very direct teaching style, and tell my students exactly what they need to do to achieve their goals, in a step-by-step, methodical way, and work on instilling a strong understanding of rhythmic concepts and timing in all my students. I was an Artist-in-Residence at Strathmore Performing Arts in their 2012-2013 season, and am proud to still be one of their most employed educators and clinicians. Currently I drum and write for on-the-rise Indie Electronic trio, Prinze George, neo-soulstress Edy Blu, and freelance with many local artists of various genres and styles including jazz, latin, pop, rock, funk, and many more.
