Irina believes in music first and foremost as a means to grow personally and spiritually. Music strengthens one's mental and creative qualities, and it's never too early or late to reap it's rewards.

Therefore her students range in age from early childhood to seniority. She teaches with a multi-disciplinary approach, combining theory, practice, and/or history, as befits each individual's needs and interests. She believes that an initial firm grounding in foundational knowledge and techniques will improve later endeavors tenfold. Those who are interested in performing are welcome and encouraged, as many of her students enjoy recitals and do well in competitions.

Irina is a Russian-educated pianist who has over 35 years experience as a concert pianist, accompanist, and instructor.

This includes 11 years performing with Khmelnytskyi State Philharmonia and teaching at Khmelnytskyi Music College in Ukraine. In the U.S., she has spent 22 years as a private instructor, over 9 years as pianist & accompanist with SC Governor’s School, as well as working as an accompanist & freelance collaborative pianist with Converse College & Furman University.
