    Learn from a PhD in music. I have extensive experience as a performer and educator. I have worked for universities, community colleges, and schools in grades 6-12 for over twenty years. I perform extensively in the Denver area in mostly rock bands, and have also played in numerous other genres throughout my career, including regional orchestras and musical theater. I will cater to your needs and interests to get you where you want to be. I am also available for mallet percussion and Latin percussion.

    About Ian R.

    I have a PhD in musicology from Texas Tech, a Masters in Percussion Performance from the University of North Texas, and a Bachelors in Percussion Performance from Texas Tech. I have performed in numerous musical scenarios, including regional orchestras, musical theater, salsa bands, Caribbean music with the steel pan, and lots of rock and pop. I have even traveled to Trinidad and Tobago to perform in their Panorama Steel Band competitions. I currently play with tribute bands in the Denver area on drums and my electronic mallet percussion controller. I also teach for various schools. I currently teach for Front Range Community College, CCCOnline, and Colorado Early Colleges. Past teaching has included the University of Houston, Colorado State University, Texas Tech, San Jacinto College, and Texas A&M. I have also taught for various junior highs and high schools. I'm very interested in the students goals and interests. I want my students to achieve their goals as quickly as possible. I look forward to helping you on your musical journey.
