This is one of my absolute passions! Did you know that “regionally specific dialects” change approximately every 20 miles? Part of my vocal training included a deep dive into dialects or accents, how to master them and how to lose them. This is so much easier than you may think! It’s all about small modifications, mostly in the mouth and jaw that can completely change the way you sound.

How many sessions you need really depends on how much work you’re willing to put in between sessions. I can give you the keys, but this is really a case of practice makes perfect. If you find you’re not booking because of your accent, let me help you master “LA speak” otherwise known as the “non-regionally specific U.S. dialect”.

Hint: I’ve lived in 8 different countries so far and in the last month I’ve had 2 of my long time acting coaches say “Wow… I would have never known you weren’t from LA!”

About Hunter P.

I love to help new performers and people looking to break into the biz, as well as seasoned actors who want to up-level their career or deepen their craft. I have been coaching actors since 2008 and have a unique combination of experience and training to help you launch your career and create work that stands out to casting directors & agents and to make self-tapes that shine above the rest.

I have spent more than 20 years working in the entertainment industry in 8 countries. This includes modeling, commercials & print work in Athens & Istanbul, acting in Toronto & London, UK, and even screen writing, before diving into the big market of Los Angeles that I now call home.

With 10 years of vocal training (primarily spoken level voice & breath work for actors) voiceovers has also been a big part of my career, recording voices on more than 400 projects to date.

My love for the craft brought me to study in NYC with legendary acting coach Uta Hagen: a process that transformed my approach and led to such roles as Blanche in Streetcar Named Desire and Karen in David Mamet's iconic Hollywood satire, Speed The Plow. I have also appeared on screen in The Bandit Hound II with Lou Ferrigno, Paul Sorvino & Catherine Bell & on TV in Mutant X, Doc, Singles Court, PSI Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal and has hosted for HGTV. Currently I'm voicing 5 characters (English language dubbing) on the mega hit TV series Babylon Berlin and shooting a sitcom pilot! How fun is that?!

I'm so excited that I finally got a chance to rehearse with Hunter! And she was absolutely AMAZING! Completely opened me up to the vulnerability in the scene. Can't wait to work with her again in the future!

Hunter shared masterful insights and asked intriguing questions that set me up for a one-of-a-kind self-tape, all while being gentle and supportive. Will definitely book again!

What can I say? Hunter is the best! It’s true what the other reviews say - she is patient and friendly and made me feel completely comfortable from the very first lesson. I started taking accent reduction lessons because I am required to do a lot of presentations related to my job, and people were having difficulty understanding me. I speak 3 languages but English is not my first and this was becoming a problem. Hunter has this down to a science and knows exactly what problems you’re going to encounter even before you get there. Lessons are set with exercises and drills, but she is also very good at incorporating “real world” materials that related specifically to my profession. This alone was extremely helpful. I reached my goals in half the time I thought it would take - I am just so grateful and impressed. No more embarrassing or frustrating presentations, and people have even stopped asking me “so where are you from?”! I can't recommend Hunter enough for anyone who wants to improve the way they communicate with the world.

I’m so happy to have discovered Hunter. I was struggling so much when I first reached out to her, but very hesitant about talking to someone about my problems because I am so private and felt a little embarrassed that I couldn’t figure this out by myself, but she made it so easy. Hunter is really positive and intuitive and knows just the right questions to ask but without asking too much. She helped me get to the core of the issue and got to what I needed without ever feeling uncomfortable. Now, we’ve talked so much, it’s almost like talking to a close friend, but with no judgement and actually getting useful answers.

I started out just doing a few sessions because I was so nervous and wasn’t sure if this was going to work, but seriously, I’d say book 10 - you won’t regret it! We kept finding new levels and I almost can’t believe how much better I feel and how much my life has changed. I definitely recommend Hunter. She will help you change your life!

Hunter is such a fun, knowledgeable and supportive, coach! I read some other reviews before hiring her, saying that she really cares about you getting the part, and it’s so true! She has lots of valuable insights for uncovering your character and great technical advice for shooting. I book all of my self-tapes with her - we coach first and then she reads with me and is my scene partner while we record. I have booked 2 guest stars in the last 3 months since I started working with her. Highly recommend!

Very good and detail oriented teacher. She can pick up the slightest little mistakes in the way you pronounce things and the way you speak and tell you how to correct them on the spot. Now I know how to move my mouth differently to make different sounds for the same word. Have been doing session twice a week for 4 months and my accent is completely gone! I thought it was going to take years. So happy and glad I met Hunter! Easy to work with and very encouraging.

Hunter is a great teacher. She is really good at catching even barely noticeable pronunciation issues. She gives clear instructions on how to fix them. She is very knowledgeable about other countries and cultures which makes it easy for her to understand one’s accent. Thanks to her acting experience, she knows a lot of drills for relaxing the jaw and making your voice sounds more clear and crisp. It’s a pleasure working with Hunter and I am looking forward to continuing our sessions. I would definitely recommend Hunter to anyone who wants to improve their American English pronunciation.

Hunter has really helped me a lot! In only a few months I have almost no accent left. I came to the US for work about 5 years ago but English was not my first language. I am very educated and read and write it well, but people did not always understand me easily when I spoke due to my accent. I was also not as confident in making business presentations to my colleagues who are native English speakers. Now, I have almost no accent at all when speaking English! Finally, no more of people asking me "where are you from?" I'm really happy for Hunter's help. She is so friendly and easy to talk to and makes the lessons fun to do! I would highly recommend her coaching if you want to lose your accent and speak perfect American English.

Hunter is clearly an experienced actor, knows how actors work best and how to get actors to bring out their very best work. She gives you just the right mix of adjustments and encouragement to really find the character for yourself and make it your own. She is always willing to go the extra mile and makes sure that you really “get” the scene. I feel so grounded and 100% prepped after every coaching session with her. I am a much better actor today because of the work we have done. #sograteful! She really is the best!

Simply one of the best coaches in Los Angeles! (really) This woman is a genius! I just started working with Hunter this year and she always brings my auditions to life. My booking rate has gone up and so has my confidence. She is so fun and supportive and really keeps me motivated and inspired to do even better work. She’s really knowledgeable about the business too. Love this lady and hope to keep working with her for years to come!

I recommend Hunter to all who want to get rid of their foreign accents and sound more american. When I started this process, I thought I was a lost cause. Now, with Hunter's coaching, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I had been in the US for two decades without much improvement in my accent, and in just 6 sessions with her I started seeing a positive difference. If you tried and failed to improve your accent in the past, try a few sessions with Hunter. She has the knowledge, the experience, and the compassion to succeed where other coaches have failed. Changing how you speak can be very daunting and frustrating but, if you trust her system, you can do it. Give yourself 10 lesson/hour with Hunter and you'll most definitely see a big change. Cheers.

Hunter is so down to earth! She is generous and kind and somehow manages to keep things light and fun while really lasering in on the work at hand. she is truly and “actors’ actor” - really wants you to succeed!! And I like that she is an actual working actor not just teaching. She really gets it which I feel is a huge plus in learning what it really takes to be good at what you do and succeed in this crazy business. So grateful to have found her! :)

Words can’t describe the excellent voice over coaching that I have received from Hunter. During every consultation, I’ve learned through her realistic approach how to unblock the mental barriers of discovering my true authentic voice. When I met Hunter, I had lots of doubts and fears of becoming a professional Voice Over talent. Now I am booking and receiving amazing responses from clients. Thank you Hunter!

After my first 30 minutes into my Discovery call with Hunter I knew she was a match for me. She just got it! She understands the dynamics of cutting through B.S. that doesn't matter in order to get you to stay focused and on track towards goals that DO matter! After explaining to her a lot of my roadblocks and huge gigantic goals/dreams she immediately embraced even some of the not so fun experiences I shared and encouraged me to see them all as part of my journey. I highly encourage working with Hunter because what I think has helped her and her clients reach their own success is that she is a coach that works with you where you are no judgements or blaming. She can see your potential in you inspiring you even closer to your dreams. I feel more confident than ever that I will be able to achieve some really lofty goals through working with her and I can't wait to get even further into our coaching sessions!

In one coaching session Hunter completely changed the way I thought about my business, for the better! As a coach, Hunter is clear, concise and highly intuitive. Her aim is true and exacting. Hunter made me feel supported and confident, after our session I was ready to take immediate action after a lifetime of doubting myself and procrastination. I felt strong and motivated to grow my business. She had an uncanny knack of knowing exactly what to say to abate my fears and trepidation's. Investing in coaching with Hunter is a true investment in YOURSELF. If you're tired of wallowing, take this step into solutions, you won't regret it! You will learn more in one session than in five years of therapy.
