Hello!

My name is Hunter Nicholson and I'm based out of Eau Claire Wisconsin. Here at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, I received a Bachelors in clarinet performance. While in college I also took multiple years of piano lessons, which was my first instrument. I've been playing the clarinet for 15 years and piano for 17 years. Along with playing/teaching clarinet, I also teach and play flute and saxophone for fun! I'm looking for more students to expand my studio. I currently have been teaching online clarinet, flute, and saxophone lessons for about two years now. My teaching journey started in 2014 at the Lawrence Academy of Music, music camps located in Appleton, Wisconsin. Here I got a lot of experience teaching large groups and one on one lessons. This experience has helped me grow my online studio and share my love for music and these instruments. Most of my students are based out of Minneaplois but I’m looking for students from all around the midwest. My clarinet students range from beginners to intermediate and advanced. All of my flute and sax students range from beginners to intermediate. My musical interests range from classical, jazz, experimental music, folk, and everything in between. Locally, I'm a member of the Chippewa Valley Orchestra, the Chippewa Valley Chamber Orchestra, and multiple local groups and bands. While I am an active classical musician, I also like to experiment with what the clarinet can sound like and where the clarinet can be performed. Some of my most favorite gigs have been in peoples living rooms or at open mics. My current project I’m working on involves loop stations for solo clarinet, and original pieces for eclectic bass and clarinet. Along with my solo project, I’m a very active collaborator and enjoy scoring films for artists and independent film makers.
