Hello,
My name is Hiyab. I have taught math for seven years. I was an elementary teacher until three years ago, and now I focus on private tutoring. I have always pushed my students to do well and perform the best of their abilities in any subject. I believe that students can learn best when provided with the proper materials in addition to having a capable teacher who can communicate and deliver the materials properly. Throughout my job as a tutor, I have always made sure that my students are satisfied with the lessons I provide. I am very punctual and value my clients time.

Hiyab is super-duper -- I couldn't be happier.   My 11-year-old son is having trouble with distance learning math.   My wife and I had a parent-teacher conference and got feedback that “your son needs to show his work”.   The kids take pictures of their notebooks and send them back to the teacher.   So, when I looked at my son’s notebook it was just a hot mess.   There was no organization, the numbers were huge, there were boxes around some work, arrows pointing to answers on the other side of the page. I had no idea where to start to fix his problem.   

Hiyab met us online through the Zoom portal and cut straight to the bigger challenge. My son doesn’t know how to organize his homework!   Hiyab told him to write his numbers in a smaller size which changed everything -- now there is space on the page to organize his work.  He showed my son how to number his homework problems 1), 2), 3).   Hiyab gave him a trick to put “/” marks between the steps of his math problems.   After my son saw HOW to organize “showing his work”, Hiyab started going through the examples in the workbook which actually teach you how to “show your work”.     

I really like our school district. I appreciate our teachers, but they just do not have an hour to sit down with each and every kid to get them on track.   It is totally worth it to me to get my son the help he needs from someone like Hiyab -- he is great!
