I am a professional musician living in New York City. I have held chairs on Broadway shows such as South Pacific, The King and I, Sunset Blvd, and My Fair Lady. I have also subbed on many more such as Porgy and Bess, Cinderella, Anastasia. in 2017 I won the Low Reed chair audition for Radio City Christmas Spectacular. I am a bassoonist that decided to start doubling so I came to Hideaki to teach me how to play clarinet, sax, and flute. I had never played a single reed instrument before or had even imagined playing the flute. Hideaki is one of the best teachers you will find. His knowledge of music and is style of playing is second to none. His patient and concise teaching style will take you to the next level in no time. Within a year I was subbing on broadway shows playing flute, sax, and clarinet. I highly recommend Hideaki as a teacher.

I studied with Hideaki for several years, starting off as a beginner clarinet student. He is an incredibly talented musician, who genuinely cares about your progress. Throughout my years of study with him, he had creative approaches to address any issues in my playing and worked patiently to figure out what was best for me. His guidance and expertise were key in developing my interest in music and decision to pursue clarinet through college. I highly recommend him as a teacher for players of all levels.

I took clarinet lessons for a few years with Hideaki and not only is a phenomenal musician, but he is an incredible teacher. His kind and caring personality creates an extremely friendly environment. In addition, his deep knowledge of music and clarinet made learning new notes, rhythms and techniques easy and stress free. He is the greatest teacher I have ever had. I highly recommend him.
