I am a graduate of UC Irvine with a bachelors of music in guitar performance. I have over 7 years of experience of successfully teaching guitar and music theory to a wide range of students (from hobbyists to professional musicians).I've played in several rock bands as a lead guitarist, performed in classical guitar ensembles, and perform regularly for my church's Sunday choir. My philosophy of music is that everyone is musical. Everyone is able to play music given the right guidance, attention, and encouragement. So please let me share these things with you to bring you the gift of music! =) *** Lesson Details *** I am a laid back teacher that focuses on making lesson constructive and fun! The lesson material is focused on practical usage that makes for easy readiness to play.I cater my teaching style to each student to how they learn best and to maximize their potential for growth. My main goal is helping students find and achieve their own goals, while giving them the tools they need to continue growing as a musician. I encourage my students to choose what they want to play and develop their own style at the same time. All the while teaching proper technique to ensure great control for thoughtful and beautiful sounding play.The main styles I teach are:-Classical-Acoustic/Folk -Rock-Church/Worship Music-Jazz/Blues *** Travel Equipment *** A guitar and tuner is required for each student.I provide all lesson materials unless it is a student learning classical guitar. In which case the student would need to purchase the book "Solo Guitar Playing 1" by Frederick NoadIf a student wants online lessons, then a student requires the following:-microphone-webcam-stable internet connectionIf a student has a macbook or a laptop that has equipment on it, it should work as well. *** Specialties *** Other genres that I specialize in would be Rock/Electric Guitar music and Church/Worship music.
