Writing with Helene L.

Hi, I am Helene, a certified teacher who has worked in a variety of classroom settings including tutoring young people in the arts. I've recently worked on the touring company for Matilda the Musical with younger students and also worked with the young men (high school age) on the cast of The Wire. I've been teaching and tutoring on and off since 1995, and have decided to work directly with students. I'm available starting June 1, 2015, and will work with you this summer if you want to get ahead or keep up your skills. I have a bachelor's in history from Duke as well as a law degree and a teaching degree. I've worked with students on writing, reading, and test prep. In the years that I taught AP World History, 78% of my students passed the test! I'm also good at math up through Algebra and early Geometry. I look forward to helping new students achieve their goals. My teaching style is supportive, friendly and firm. If you want to learn, I want to help!
