NYC born and raised, I began my musical training quite early as a
professional singer and playing clarinet in the band program at middle
school and ultimately graduating from the famed, High School of Music
and Art, the " FAME " High School. While there, I began singing in a
girls group of which one of the members was recently inducted into the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!! ( 2012 ).

I continued my education, earning a B.S. in Music Education from New
York University and a Grad degree from Hunter College, NYC. I sang and
played clarinet and bassoon in classical orchestras on the stages of
Carnegie Hall and with the Buffalo Philharmonic, near Niagara Falls,

Combining my love of Pop music as well, I created a variety of pop
bands, solo acts, and as a piano/singer in many diverse nightclubs in
the USA and France.

I've been teaching all ages from 5-75 since graduating college,
working in public schools from elementary through high school, private
schools, community centers, creating workshops and shows for my
students to participate in and teaching privately as well. So, whether
it's singing, piano, orchestral instruments or songwriting, I am
delighted to be part of the TakeLessons " team " at this time.

*** Lesson Details ***
My approach to all my students, children and adults alike, takes on a
kind of friendly, " casual " appearance, while at the same time,
utilizing my classical and technical training.I believe music is the
most joyous of all " subjects " to study and my greatest desire is for
my students to learn a lot while feeling the joy that music provides.

Having said that, studying with me will be fun, detailed, technical
and productive!! I expect my students to be doing their " homework ",
which is practicing, always assuming that they want to be learning the
music because they love it, too!!

The curriculum that I use varies according to the different orchestral
instruments, singing or piano and of course, according to the levels
of ability. I work with many technique books and workbooks to teach
music notation and reading. In 3-6 months, my students will be reading
notes, understanding rhythms, both complex and simple and will be
playing and singing from classical to pop to Broadway and even
improvising on their own!!

*** Studio Equipment ***
in her apartment w/ f/w keyboard, music books, cds, w/ seating for parents

*** Travel Equipment ***
Sometimes, I have the technique books, CD's, etc. Other times, we order everything together.

*** Specialties ***
I combine my classical technique with current styles much like the coaches on American Idol.
