Helen has extensive experience as a professional violinist, and has enjoyed a successful and varied career performing and teaching worldwide. Today, she is a passionate and dedicated teacher, with a patient and supportive attitude, and teaches predominantly online.

Helen was educated in the world-renowned Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow in the 80’s, where she graduated with a masters in chamber music performance, orchestral solo performance as well as pedagogy (teaching) of the violin. She went on to hold several teaching posts alongside her performance career, at the Odessa Conservatory, as well as the music academy in Karmiel, Israel.

Around 2001, Helen moved with her family to the UK, where she was the lead soloist with the Wimbledon Orchestra in London, as well as the First & Lead Violinist with the North Staffs Symphony Orchestra in Staffordshire, UK. Throughout her time in the UK, Helen continued teaching, preparing students of all abilities for exams, as well as informal performances.

Since her move to the US, Helen has continued her life-long passion to share the joy of the violin with others. She typically works with students once or twice a week, and develops a learning plan for each student individually, based on their experience and unique ambitions. She enjoys teaching children from the age of 7, through to adults and seniors. Helen prides herself on developing confidence in her students, and always encourages fun and creativity through music.
