White Pelican Music Studio is my personal teaching platform. Through the studio I teach both from my apartment (from a Krakauer baby grand piano) and in the homes of my students. I have been teaching privately as a self-employed teacher since 2006.

Private Flute and Piano Teacher

I teach a structured piano lesson that is highly personalized and fun! Although usually working from the Piano Adventures series, I am comfortable with a wide range of method books and repertoire and I happily cater the work books to suit the individual student! I use a three-pronged approach in my piano teaching believing that by developing a love of music, the skill of diligent practicing, and a solid technical foundation my students will become life-long musicians, whether by recreation or profession. A great first piano teacher for students of all ages!

I am an enthusiastic young teacher and musician who loves to share the wonderful world of music with others! I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance from the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music (Wisconsin), and have taught flute and piano for over six years with great success! I love teaching and performing equally and find a unique joy in bringing the joy of music to another person's life. I have extensive training in music theory, music history, flute performance and teaching, piano teaching and practical vocal studies! I have a passion for teaching elementary-aged kids, but I genuinely enjoy working with any age.

Heidi

Heidi is the most patient and encouraging instructor one can hope for. She started my daughter on the piano and really got her interested.

She is young, vibrant and very enthusiastic about what she does. I made an excellent choice when I chose her!

Sweet and knowledgable

I've taken 2 lessons with Heidi so far. Her knowledge of music is excellent. She's been able to meet me where I am and give me appropriate music and exercises to work on. She also so sweet. I'm an adult, but I bet she's wonderful with children, too.
