I have been teaching flute students for 11 years, and I love it! The students who have come through my studio vary in age, ability, and backgrounds. I love the diversity within my studio, and I welcome anyone who is wanting to grow musically through their flute!

I have a real passion for sharing musical concepts with others, which is a characteristic you will find in my studio! I want to nurture not only the flutist but the person as a whole! My teaching style is to not only equip each student with flute fundamentals but an understanding of how the body and mind works, so we can thrive holistically!

Whether you are working towards your next flute recital, competition, and/or music festival, let me help you reach your musical goals!

About Dr. Heidi Kay B.

Hi! I'm Dr. Heidi Kay Begay and I am a flutist, teacher, and podcaster!

I have been teaching the flute since 2009, and I enjoy working with students to help them reach their musical goals!

Not only am I a teacher, but I am a performer, too! I've had the pleasure to perform nationally and internationally. Some exciting places that I have performed are Chicago, Washington D.C., Texas, Louisiana, Arizona, Greece, Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, and the United Kingdom! I am thankful that my flute has allowed me to meet new people and explore our beautiful world!

Lastly, I am a podcaster! I am the creator and host of the Flute 360 Podcast where I get to share my musical ideas and talk with other flute experts! The podcast is growing and we have launched over 120 episodes, as of August 2020!

I hope we get to work together soon!

Dr. Begay was definitely the best flute teacher I ever had. She was super patient as I was learning the ropes of the instrument, and, more importantly, she made playing the flute really enjoyable!

Heidi is incredible!
I am an adult who wanted to get back to playing flute regularly again for fun. Heidi is extremely knowledgeable and improved my technique significantly. She was willing to push me, but was also very understanding of my unsteady practice schedule. The bonus is her absolutely delightful personality :)

Dr. Begay is very thorough, organized, and kind. She focuses on your individual traits and tailors your lesson to suit your needs. My review says “in-home” but she would actually come to my school during the day so I could get a lesson in that worked around my schedule - she’s very accommodating. Dr. Begay was a great influence on my skills and confidence as a flute player, and I couldn’t recommend her more!

Heidi Begay is a great teacher who takes time to help me learn the meterial and really listens to my concerns. Her online lessons are great learning material that helps me learn at my own pace.

Dr. Begay was an amazing instructor for the 7 years that she taught me! She shaped me both as a flutist and as an individual in our time together. I had the privilege of taking lessons with her both in person and online, and she was phenomenal in both areas at aiding me in becoming the best flutist I could be. Not only is she organized, talented, and professional as a lesson teacher, she genuinely cares for her students and displays warmth in all that she does. For these reasons, and many more, I can give my wholehearted recommendation for Dr. Begay as a lesson teacher!

My daughter thoroughly enjoys her flute lessons! Dr. Begay is so talented, and she's a very organized, warm, compassionate teacher. She truly goes above and beyond for her students! We have taken lessons with her both in-person and now online, and she is fantastic in both formats. We feel very blessed to have found her, and I highly recommend her!
