Your body is your home. The purpose of moving mindfully through yoga poses is to become mindful throughout all parts of our lives, so that we’re awake, present, and openhearted in everything we do—not just when we’re on our mats. A yoga practice is not about being good at the poses; it’s about being good to yourself.
As a yogi and a teacher, Heather wholeheartedly believes in the power that lies within our bodies, and she seeks to inspire her students to cultivate self-awareness and self-love. Through creative sequencing and an emphasis on proper alignment, Heather encourages her students to explore their edge mindfully, without judgment, and without fear.
Where we build our skill is in the practice of coming back. Heather has come back to her mat every day for the past seven years—dedicating herself to mindfulness and self-care again and again. It takes practice, but it feels good to be good to yourself.
