I have always enjoyed learning and teaching languages. Teaching for me is a reflective practice of my language learning experience, so I always put myself in students' shoes. In terms of my experience, I have 7 years of experience in Teaching English as a foreign/second language to students whose first language is Arabic. I also have 10 years of experience in teaching Arabic as a foreign language to American adults. I have a masters degree in teaching a foreign language from Middlebury Institute of International Studies, and an EdD in International and Multicultural Education with emphasis on second language acquisition from the University of San Francisco. I believe that teaching languages help me know more about other cultures and gives me an opportunity to put intercultural communication skills I developed over time and due to my education into practice.
The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) is dedicated to the improvement and expansion of the teaching and learning of all languages at all levels of instruction. ACTFL is an individual membership organization of more than 12,000 language educators, students, and administrators.
