My name is Hali D. and I have played the violin since I was three years old. I also have experience with other musical instruments such as piano, mandolin, guitar, and cello. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2017 with a degree in Professional Studies with an emphasis in Music Composition for Film, TV and Games. I have produced five albums, composed over 30 songs ranging from solo violin to full scale orchestral pieces. I have competed at numerous fiddle contests across the country and won New Mexico State Grand Champion Fiddler against all ages when I was 10, 11, and 12 years old.
I was accepted to CODA (California Orchestra Directors Association) and California All-State Symphony Orchestra during my senior year of high school, playing both 1st and 2nd violin. I was Assistant Concertmistress for the Modesto Junior College Orchestra and performed a Mozart solo in front of the orchestra. I was awarded 1st place in Classical Solo Performance for the Humanities Competition in Modesto, CA. I have performed as a soloist as well as with duets, trios, quartets, orchestras, and bands.
My musical genre stretches from classical to fiddle to jazz, blues and celtic, to lots of stuff in between. I have over 5 years of experience teaching violin students ranging from beginner level to advanced in one-on-one classes to small groups. I also taught one year of elementary music to nearly 500 students every week ranging from Kindergarten all the way to 5th grade.
I believe that music can help bring people together no matter what their background and is a way of experiencing the good in life. So I look forward to meeting you and passing on my knowledge and love for music.
During my time at Bataan Elementary, I taught nearly 500 students every week ranging in age from 5 up to 11. I taught basic music theory, orff instruments, recorders, and I put on three different performances throughout the year where different classes performed.+ Read More
