I am a former substitute teacher who has done tutoring for one year. I graduated Troy University with a Bachelor's of Arts in Spanish. I have a passion for languages, and have become fluent in Spanish and French. I am also currently learning Portuguese, Italian, German, and Chinese. On top of that, I have a passion for helping others to learn, as my ultimate goal is to teach Spanish at the University level. I have one year of prior tutor experience in Spanish. Beginning Spanish students can be expected to learn the basics of the language before moving on. Exceptions can be made for any prior experience the student may have in Spanish. I can help students understand grammar, find fun ways to remember vocabulary, and improve pronunciation. The student can also learn aspects of Hispanic culture, especially that of Mexico, Spain, and Costa Rica, since I have studied abroad in Costa Rica. I have been playing the clarinet since I was eleven years old. In high school I received a music scholarship for Troy University's school of music, where I was a member of their marching and concert band, and of clarinet choir. I have experience voluntarily tutoring younger students when I was in high school. Students can expect help with basics, technique, how to put feeling into a piece, and how to properly care for their clarinet. I have taken French in college, however my best learning experience was studying abroad in Paris in 2013. After graduation I began to constantly learn more French so as not to lose any of it. Students of French can expect to learn the language in a similar to my Spanish students (see above). I am strongly passionate about music and languages, and have been so for many years. One thing these two subjects have in common is the misconception that they are too difficult to learn. I will show my students just how fun and easy it can be to learn a new instrument or language.
