    About Gretchen E.

    Gretchen received her Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance, with distinction, from Westminster Choir College and her Bachelor of Music, magna cum laude, in Voice Performance from Nazareth College of Rochester. She has also completed studies in Piano, Organ, Collaborative Piano, and Music History at the collegiate level and has conducted and presented research in the fields of Vocal Pedagogy and Musicology. Gretchen has performed throughout the United States and in Europe. She has most recently performed the operatic roles of La Chauve-Souris in Ravel’s L'enfant et les sortileges, Maestra de la novicia in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, and the Gingerbread Witch & the Mother in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel. As a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir, she has sung under the baton of many notable conductors, including performances at Carnegie Hall with Sir Simon Rattle and the Berlin Philharmonic, and in The Kimmel Center with Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the Philadelphia Orchestra. She has also performed with the renowned Berliner Singakademie and the Berlin Bach-Chor under the direction of Achim Zimmermann while living and studying in Berlin, Germany. Gretchen has also been featured as a soloist at the Niagara Music Festival in Canada, and has recorded as a solo pianist for the independent film, Like the Spider (2013). She continues to actively perform as a vocalist, pianist, and organist.
