Hone your guitar skills and get ready for live performances

My methods vary from student to student. I focus primarily on ear training, applications of chord construction to learning solo's, songs, and chords, and reading guitar tablature when a student is lost. I believe guitar is an especially creative instrument and do NOT focus on reading sheet music as a part of the student's learning experience. An emphasis is also placed on performance as well as proper technique to avoid injuries. Listening to music is an extra-curricular activity that should be done every day with a special emphasis on hearing what the 'greats' do with a magnificent piece of wood in their hands.

I have been playing guitar for over 14 years, played in four different gigging bands ranging from country to jazz to improvisational funk. I taught music theory, guitar, and bass at M.E.A. Music in Lexington Park, Maryland for 3 years and currently teach and manage at the School of Rock in Arnold. I earned an Associates Degree in Music at Anne Arundel Community College and a Minor in Music at St. Mary's College of Maryland. I currently perform as an acoustic trio in the DMV area with some very talented musicians.

Greg is intimately connected with the guitar. There is no other type of teacher I can recommend than one who is so passionate about music, it's development, and it's exploration. I highly recommend this teacher.
