The most important thing in teaching privately is having a solid communication between teacher and student. Patience is the essence in establishing that rapport. I tell parents when they start their kids with music lessons , that I will guarantee that they will practice and learn. Three months later, they come back to me and tell me that their kids are practicing without them having to be told, and that their ready for recital. I have 30 years of teaching experience that helps me communicate with all levels of students. Everyday I get parents that walk into my institute and tell me, Mr. Koss , my kids have been taking lessons (at another place) for the last two years and my neighbor kids just started with you two months ago, and my neighbor kids are already playing better then my kids, so can we quit wasting time and money and sign up with you!! If your interested in a serious learning experience and having fun in the process, please give me the opportunity to enrich your life with the language of the human race.........the language of music !
