    About Glenn E.

    Glenn is a fully trained actor and teacher of the 12 Step Method System of Acting. He began his professional training in New York City in 1987 at HB Studios, studying with Burgess Meredith, William Hickey and Academy Award winner Sandy Dennis. Glenn worked for two years with noted Actor’s Studio teacher Marcia Haufrecht at the Common Basis Theater with a concentration in sensory and animal work. He studied for one year with famed acting teacher Alice Spivak, who coaches a number of acting luminaries such as Billy Baldwin, Daniel Day Lewis and Meryl Streep. Finally, Glenn spent two years in Terry Schreiber’s Master Class at the T. Schreiber Studio. Glenn's class work includes script examination/scoring, building a character from within and without, sensory work, animal work, scene study, working with substitutions, places, people, overalls, music, paintings, the song and dance exercise, the affective memory and the private moment. Glenn English is also a director/writer/producer working with Mystik Films, based in New York City. He has an MA in dramatic theory and criticism from Hunter College, has been a theater professor for CUNY and is a recipient of the John Golden Award. He has directed a good number of stage plays off and off-off broadway for a variety of organizations over the years. Glenn was the artistic director of Muse of Fire Theater Company for five years, the creator of the Sirens Festival which produced original plays by women writers. He also produced a series of plays for young audiences with the Starlight Foundation which grants wishes for terminally and chronically ill children.
